Unexpectedly Yours earns P157-M in less than 2 weeks

Having big stars in the cast of a movie is not enough to guarantee its success. It helps to have a well-known cast, but a good storyline is what will make the movie a box-office hit.

Such is the case of Star Cinema's Unexpectedly Yours which is currently on its second week in cinemas. It has veteran actors Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla, plus the one of today's hottest love teams - Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto (JoshLia).

My Ex and Whys earns P27M on opening day

Star Cinema's My Ex and Whys earned P27-million on its 1st day in cinemas, according to social media posts by the ABS-CBN movie production outfit.



Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the movie stars the love team of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano.

My Ex and Whys opened in Philippine cinemas on February 15th, a day after Valentine's Day.

It was the 3rd movie starred by the LizQuen love team, following Just The Way You Are and Everyday I Love You, which was both released in 2015.

The movie will surely earn even more during the weekend, but will it surpass the ticket sales of their previous movies which both earned over P100-M?

LizQuen's "Dolce Amore" to end Aug. 26

"Dolce Amore" is down to its last three weeks beginning this Monday, August 8. Starring the LizQuen love team of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, the series is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, Cathy Garcia-Molina and Richard Arellano.


"Dolce Amore" will end on August 26, six months after it premiered on February 15 on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel.

Also part of the cast of the well-loved series are Matteo Guidicelli, Cherie Gil, Sunshine Cruz, Edgar Mortiz, Rio Locsin, Kean Cipriano, Andrew E, Joseph Marco and Sue Ramirez.

Meanwhile, Star Music will be releasing the "Choose Amore Choose Love" album, a compilation of the series' soundtrack, on Aug. 13.

A concert featuring the "Dolce Amore" cast will also be held on Aug. 20 at the KIA Theatre in Quezon City.

Star Cinema's "A Second Chance" starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo is now the current highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time based on the box-office gross it has so far made worldwide.
